I'm honored to be the artist of the month at the Local Artist Gallery in Rogersville.

After recent periods of doing newspaper work for both Hawkins Today and the Rogersville Review, I'm back doing strictly freelance work.

I'll be the featured artist for August at the monthly art show at the Hale Springs Inn in Rogersville.

My latest book Images of Home, has been doing very well. 

Since March of 2013 I've been "stringing" for Hawkins Today. I have a lot of creative freedom and am really enjoying working with these talented people

Several local newspapers ran my photos from the East TN Young Musicians Bluegrass Contest, including Hawkins Today, on the front page & a full page inside.

One of my Autumn images is on the cover of the September issue on The Tennessee Banker Magazine.

One of my images won an "Honorable Mention" in the Adult Professional Division of the Scenic Tennessee 2012 Photography Contest. The theme was the preservation of Civil War sites in Tennessee.

I had the honor of presenting a photography class to a local Girl Scout troop in April. They were a fantastic group of young ladies.

The gallery class was great! I had an excellent group and I hope they enjoyed the class as much as I did. 

I'll be doing another photography class on the first four Mondays in April at The Local Artists Gallery in Rogersville. There are no costs or fees, as the program is sponsored by the Tenneseess Arts Commission and the Rogerville Arts Council. Give me a yell if you're interested.

Several of my images are in the first issue of Discover Hawkins County, a new magazine published by the Rogersville Review.

I'll be doing a one-day photography class at the Local Artists Gallery in November. More details will follow.

The new book, Rogersville, is out and doing well. I had a successful book signing at the Local Artists Gallery on Aug 12. I'll have another at Amis Mill on Sept 4 at 12:30pm. I'll be doing a signing for U-Save on Sept 2 at 4pm.

I was fortunate to have my images on the covers of the April, May, and June 2011 issues of The Tennessee Banker.

The photography class went great.... a wonderful group attended and I appreciate them all, as well as The Tennessee Arts Commission and The Rogersville Arts Council for the opportunity.

I'll be having another book signing at the Local Artists Gallery on Dec 11 at 4pm. I have a limited number of copies of Impressions, Appalachian Photographs, and Then and Now Rogersville.

I've committed to teaching another photography class sometime in 2011 at the Local Artists Gallery in Rogersville.

The book signing for Impressions went very well. Most of the books I had now have new homes.

I have another book available on Impressions is a book of manipulated Hawkins County images. I'll be having a book signing at The Local Artists Gallery on Oct 9 (Heritage Days Saturday) at 11:00am. Several of my prints as well as other books are always available at the Gallery. Please don't forget to check out the Gallery during your Heritage Days visit. 

I've also agreed to do another book for Arcadia Publishing. Rogersville will be a book in their Images of America Series. It will feature vintage photos of Rogersville and the immediate surrounding area. I need your help! If you have old (at least 30 years) photos of the places and people of Rogersville that you'd like to share, please contact me.

May & June 2010 has been a great time! I've had several shots published in the Rogersville Review, had a Tennessee Banker cover,and had some photos in some articles and brochures.

The class is finished up now. I hope the students were as inspired from the classes as I am from teaching them. They were a wonderful group.

So far I've had three front-page photos with my new Rogersville Review column.

The class on Tuesday night has been going great. All the student's work has been very impressive and they have shown a lot of interest in learning more about photography.

My new Rogersville Review column was featured on the front page of the April 14 edition.

The photography class is a going to be every Tuesday night in April at The Local Artists Gallery at 6:30pm. Its part of a series called "Launch Your Creative Spirit." It is presented by the Tennessee Arts Commission.

I'm now a regular contributor to the Rogersville Review. I'll have a "stand alone" photo in the midweek edition starting March 17.

I learned that one of my photos will be on the March, 2010  issue of  The Tennessee Banker magazine.

I had several photos of The East Tennessee young Musicians Bluegrass Contest in the March 3 Rogersville Review.

I'll be teaching a photography class in Rogersville during the month of April, 2010. Call or email me if you're interested.

I'm now a member of "The Local Artists Gallery" in Rogersville. I'll have prints, books and postcards available there.

I had a photo on the front page of the Jan 13, 2010 Rogersville Review.

I will have a book signing with Rodney Ferrell for the Christmas season  at the Local Artist Gallery on December 11 from 5:30- 8:00pm.

One of my images was used in Rodney Ferrell's article in the Rogersville Review on October 2.

I just got a copy of Rodney Ferrell's new book, Hawkins County. It is a part of Arcadia's "Images of America" series. I'm proud to have over 20 images included in this book, and I appreciate Rodney's continued use of my photos in his Rogersville Review column.

Rogersville, my book with Rodney Ferrell, is doing really well. It came out in June and we've had two successful book signings. The Rogersville Review and Hawkins Today both ran articles about the book.

The Johnson City Press published a feature article about the release of Rogersville on Monday, June 15.

Rodney Ferrell and I have two booksignings planned for the release of Rogersville: June 29, Price Public School from 2-4 pm & July 3 at the Local Artists Gallery from 6-8pm.

Number 101 came quickly! I also had the May cover of The Tennessee Banker magazine.

The weekend at Berea was great! The issue of Appalachian Heritage was very well done. The reception was very nice, and we spent a lot of time with author Sharyn McCrumb. (April 08)

I was named to the International Freelance Photographers Association's Hall of Fame on January 18, 2008. I received an "Honorary Degree of Distinction in the Photographic Arts and Sciences." (Jan 08)

I had a black & white photo on the inside back cover of the Jan 2008 Issue (Volume 23, number 2) of "Now & Then", ETSU's Appalachian Magazine.  (Jan 08)

My photo of the Hale Springs Inn won 1st Honorable mention, Professional Division, in the Scenic Tennessee Photo Contest. The winning photos will be exhibited at three locations across the state. (Dec 2007)

I worked with a local historical group to help them publish a postcard of the Price Public School/Swift Museum in Rogersville. (Nov 08)
